Frequently asked questions
How many cameras do I need for a house?
Most houses start with four: the gate, the front door, the back or side entrance and the parking area. Larger properties or shops usually need eight. We confirm the number on the site visit.
Wired or Wi-Fi cameras?
Wired systems are more reliable for many cameras and continuous recording. Wi-Fi cameras suit smaller spaces, rented homes and places where cabling is hard. Our guide on the blog compares both in detail.
Can I watch the cameras on my phone?
Yes. Hikvision and HiLook recorders use the Hik-Connect app and EZVIZ cameras use the EZVIZ app. We set up the app, alerts and user access for your family or staff during handover.
Will the system record during a power cut?
Only if the recorder, cameras and router have backup power. We recommend a UPS or a CCTV power supply with battery backup and include the option in your quote.
Do you service systems installed by someone else?
Yes. A maintenance visit covers cleaning, connector checks, recording tests and firmware updates for most brands, and we can repair or extend an existing system.
